Refund & Returns Policies 

At Box of Rain, we are committed to being your preferred partner for all your gardening needs. We have a knowledgeable staff that can assist you in troubleshooting, room design or locating any product that you may desire, all at an affordable price. If you are unsatisfied with a purchase, please contact us so we can find a resolution, as your satisfaction is our success.

In-Store Pickup

If you purchase an item online and pick it up in-store, you may return it to the store. Refunds will be credited to the original method of payment, provided you have proof of purchase. Acceptable proof includes your original order confirmation email and a valid photo ID.

General Return Policy

You may return most unopened items within 10 days of purchase for a refund. However, we do not accept returns on the following items:

  • Soils & mediums
  • Liquids & nutrients
  • Trimming machines
  • Lamps & bulbs
  • Discontinued products

 

Return Conditions:

Items must be unopened and in new condition.

 

Unopened Item Returns

Unopened items may be returned within 10 days of receipt. Refunds will be issued less:

  • Shipping fees
  • A 3% credit card processing fee
  • A 15% restocking fee

 

Shipping fees are non-refundable.

All returns must be pre-authorized. To request a return, contact us via phone, email, or our website. Unauthorized returns will be returned to the sender.

General Return Policy

  • Products must be in new, resalable condition and free of scratches, dents, or cosmetic damage.
  • Items must include all informational materials, installation guides, cords, and accessories.
  • The original manufacturer’s packaging must be undamaged and protected inside a plain shipping box.
  • Damages or discrepancies must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

Box of Rain reserves the right to refuse returns for items not in like-new condition or with damaged packaging.

Return Costs

Customers are responsible for:

  • Restocking fees (15%)
  • Return shipping costs
  • Freight costs associated with returning items in their original condition

We recommend purchasing insurance for return shipments, as Box of Rain is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen return items.

Defective Products

If a product is defective within 30 days of receipt, we will replace it, issue store credit, or provide a refund after inspecting the product. Contact us immediately if a product is not functioning properly.

Warranty Claims

For products that fall outside the 30-day return period but within the manufacturer’s warranty period, we are happy to assist with warranty claims. Outcomes—refund, replacement, or repair—will depend on the manufacturer’s terms. No refunds are provided after 90 days from delivery.

Order Cancellation

Orders can only be canceled prior to shipping. If an order has already shipped, it is considered fulfilled and must be returned following our standard return policy, including applicable shipping and restocking fees.

Special-order items cannot be canceled. All canceled orders are subject to a 3% credit card processing fee.

Cash Payment Discount Policy

At Box of Rain Organic Gardening Center, we are pleased to offer a 10% discount for customers who pay with cash when shopping in-store only.

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility:

  • The 10% discount applies only to in-store purchases made with cash or checks.
  • This offer is not available for online purchases or other payment methods (e.g., credit/debit cards, or mobile payments).

Exclusions:

  • The discount does not apply to sale items, gift cards, special orders, or previously discounted items.
  • Certain product categories may be excluded from this discount, as specified in-store.

Application:

  • The discount will be applied at the time of purchase and reflected on the receipt.

Refunds:

  • If a cash payment qualifies for a discount and the item is later returned, the refund will reflect the discounted price paid.

Price Match Terms and Conditions

  1. Eligibility
    a. The competitor’s price must be current and verifiable.
    b. The item must be identical, including brand, model, size, and condition (new, not refurbished).
  2. Proof of Price: Customers must provide proof of the competitor’s price at the time of purchase, such as:
    i. A printed advertisement
    ii. A live webpage displayed on a mobile device or printed copy
  3. Exclusions:
    a. Price matching is only available for in-store purchases.
    b. We do not match prices for:

    1. Promotions requiring membership (e.g., subscription-only discounts)
    2. Bundled offers, rebates, or free-with-purchase deals
    3. Auction or third-party marketplace prices (e.g., eBay, Amazon third-party sellers)
    4. Prices from unauthorized resellers
  4. Limitations:
    a. Taxes, shipping, and handling fees will be considered in the price match.
  5. Final Decision:
    a. Box of Rain reserves the right to verify the competitor’s price and availability before completing the price match.
